چکیده
Aims With novel promising therapies potentially limiting progression of Dupuytren’s disease (DD), better patient stratification is needed. We aimed to quantify DD development and after seven years in a population-based cohort, identify factors predictive or progression. Methods All surviving participants from our previous prevalence study were invited participate the current prospective cohort study. Participants examined for presence Iselin’s classification was applied. They asked complete comprehensive questionnaires. Disease defined as advancement further Iselin stage surgery. Potential assessed using multivariable regression analyses. Of 763 original study, 398 available investigation later. Results identified 143/398 (35.9%) with DD, whom 56 (39.2%) newly diagnosed. Overall, 20/93 (21.5%) previously affected had progression, while 6/93 (6.5%) patients showed regression. occurred more often who initially advanced disease. Multivariable analyses revealed that both ectopic lesions positive family history are independent predictors Previous hand injury predicts DD. Conclusion 21.5% The higher initial stage, greater proportion at follow-up. Both predict These patient-specific may be used might benefit treatment prevents Cite this article: Bone Joint J 2021;103-B(4):704–710.

متن کاملUnresolved Subclinical Hypothyroidism is Independently Associated with Progression of Chronic Kidney Disease
BACKGROUND AND AIM Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) often have subclinical hypothyroidism. However, few reports have investigated changes in the status of subclinical hypothyroidism in CKD patients and its clinical significance in CKD progression. METHODS We included 168 patients with nondialysis-dependent CKD stages 2-4. The normalization of subclinical hypothyroidism during follow...

OBJECTIVE To examine uric acid (UA) as a possible predictor of the progression of coronary artery calcification (CAC) using data from the prospective Coronary Artery Calcification in Type 1 Diabetes (CACTI) Study. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS CAC was measured by electron beam tomography at the baseline and at a follow-up 6.0±0.5 years later. The study population included 443 participants with ...
متن کاملIs Subclinical Thyroid Dysfunction Associated With with Coronary Heart Disease?
Introduction: Previous cohort studies reported contradictory data on the association between subclinical thyroid dysfunction and coronary heart disease (CHD). Regarding this, the present study was conducted to illuminate this relationship. Materials and Methods: For the purpose of the study, 3,066 participants employed in a study conducted by Azizi et al. aged ≥ 20 years were subjected to thyro...
